Boiler Installation

Even, quiet heat starts with a boiler that’s sized to your home and piped the right way. We install high-efficiency condensing and standard cast-iron boilers with proper venting, zoning, and controls so baseboard, radiators, or radiant floors run smoothly all winter.

Which Boiler Is Right for Your Home?

Condensing (modulating) boilers. Highest efficiency at lower water temps; ideal for radiant floors and oversized cast-iron radiators. Outdoor reset control matches output to the weather for comfort and savings.

Standard cast-iron boilers. Durable and proven for higher-temperature baseboard loops. Simple controls and long service life when maintained.

Combi vs. boiler + indirect tank. Combi units save space and offer on-demand hot water. Indirect tanks pair with a boiler for excellent hot-water recovery and longevity.

Fuel, venting, and codes. We size gas piping, set regulators, and provide lined chimneys (standard) or sealed PVC/PP venting (condensing) to meet local code.

Hydronic Design That Matters

Primary/secondary piping or a hydraulic separator to prevent flow conflicts and protect the boiler.

Circulators or zone valves selected for the loop length and head; delta-T control where appropriate.

Air/dirt separation, expansion tank sizing, and proper fill/pressure reducing valve setup.

Mixing strategies for radiant floors vs. baseboard, plus domestic hot water priority control.

Installation Day — Step by Step

  1. Protect floors and remove old equipment; verify gas, venting, and electrical.
  2. Set and level the boiler; install venting (lined chimney or sealed PVC/PP).
  3. Pipe primary/secondary or low-loss header; add circulators/zone valves and isolation valves.
  4. Install expansion tank, air separator, backflow preventer, PRV, and relief valve.
  5. Flush, purge air, pressure test; set system pressure.
  6. Wire controls, thermostats, and outdoor reset; integrate DHW (combi or indirect).
  7. Commission: combustion analysis, gas pressure, purge verification, and safety checks.

Controls & Commissioning

We set your outdoor reset curve, verify supply/return temps, confirm pump sizing/flow, and document combustion analysis. You’ll get a startup report and guidance on routine care (bleeding radiators, filter/strainer checks, and annual service).

Boiler Installation FAQs

How long does installation take?

Like-for-like swaps often take one day. New zoning, radiant manifolds, or venting revisions may add time.

Do I need new radiators/baseboard?

Not usually. We design the boiler and temperatures around your existing emitters; upgrades are optional for comfort or aesthetics.

Is a combi right for my home?

Great for space savings and moderate hot-water demand. Larger households may prefer an indirect tank for stronger recovery.

What maintenance is required?

Annual service: combustion check, heat-exchanger cleaning (mod-cons), expansion tank/relief verification, and system flush/bleed as needed.
